Eating and drinking in Sella and Villa Pico

There are 5 bars / restaurants and two bakeries in this small village and it is possible to prepare your own meal in the communal Kitchen of Villa Pico

The bars / restaurants in the village serve full meals and tapas.

In small Spanish villages, lunch is the main meal of the day, that´s why bar Maria and bar Fonda only open afternoons. Bar Casino, Bar Paco and Bar Isa i Toni open afternoons and evenings.

Eating and Drinking in Villa Pico

There is a daily breakfast buffet in the communal room.

The bread is from the local bakery (Pepe) and is prepared in a century old wood oven.

There is also a large fridge / minibar with drinks and a little snacks shop in the communal room.

In the communal kitchen on the ground floor guests can cook.

Bar ´Fonda´

This cozy restaurant is famous in the area and has been here for about 80 years. Many Costa Blanca visitors make a day trip to Sella especially for Bar Fonda. The food in Bar Foundation is an afternoon filling program. The walls are covered with towels brought by visitors from Belgium, Netherlands, England, Germany, etc ... The menu consists of:

• Pan tostada
• salad
• sausages
• ham and cheese platter
• tortilla española
• a main course (chicken, pork, lamb, fish)
• desert
• kofffie

Bar Maria

The pure, healthy cuisine from the countryside without fuss is served here. Many ingredients are fresh from the
families own land. Bar Maria has a large terrace, perfect to pass a gorgeous summer afternoon.

The ensalada (salad) at Maria is delicious. As tapas are served Champiñones con ajilo (mushrooms with garlic), Habas (beans), calamari, cuttlefish (squid), salchichas (sausages), tortilla (potato ommelet).

Main courses are paella (with meat), lamb chops, chicken in garlic and chicken in tomato sauce, pork chops.

The dessert flan the turron (flan made with almonds from the village) melts on the tongue and is a must.

Isa I Toni

This small bar in the main street serves a day menu afternoons and in the evening a la carte. This is the Mediterranean cuisine with fresh ingredients from the region.

Isa is a very good chef and the quality of the tiny kitchen next to the bar is special.

There is no written menu but ask Toni what they serve.

Bar ´Paco´

In this small, crowded, bar at the 'Plaza Mayor' Mari Amparo makes the most delicious (fish) tapas.

For a low price, in the heart of the village enjoying these delicious dishes makes your holiday complete.

Also recommended are the bocadillos (sandwiches), the Pan con tomate and the tasty salad.

Bar ´Casino´

Beside the church, this bar in a stately Moorish building. The building was connected to the church and a space was the local prison. Casino is the place where The JUBILADOS (retired) of the village in the afternoon
play cards. Village life can be followed here and analyzed.

Casino is the only bar with a written menu (in multiple languages) and has an international cuisine combined with Spanish tapas and dishes.

Hamburger, pizza, Indian curries are also appreciated by our guests.

Restaurants near Sella

There are too many to mention but in the villages around Sella and at the coast there are many good restaurants. Worth: Casa Pachel in Ermita, El Hogar del Pescador in Villajoyosa, Restaurante Paco in Orcheta, El Chiringuito in Albir, La Lonja and El Camion in Calpe (Great day trip from Sella).
